Take a trip over to Amsterdam and 69th St. before they demolish our latest entry — Lincoln Square Synagogue. The mid-century temple was built in 1970. The exterior is all travertine and is a nice representation of the style:
Sadly, it will soon meet the wrecking ball because the temple built a new sanctuary just down the avenue. It’s bigger, but is this an improvement?

It looks like demolition is about to begin. So sad.

This is apparently what is proposed for the site: a 670-foot tall apartment building, the tallest on the Upper West Side:
