Sheraton Hotel

The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel opened in 1962 as the Loews Americana with 1850 rooms and 10 ballrooms. Designed by Morris Lapidus, the man behind the current Doubletree Hotel, had to drop out of designing the Hilton a block away over the conflict of interest. Still, the slab style, mid-century building is similar to the Hilton.
